Barringtonia asiatica

Barringtonia asiatica, also called the Fish Poison Tree, Sea Poison Tree, or Box Fruit Tree, is a tropical mangrove species known for its eye-catching flowers, vibrant red new leaves, and unique box-shaped fruit.

While it’s usually a large tree found along coastlines, younger trees can make a striking indoor plant if you give them the right care. Its shiny, lance-shaped leaves have wavy edges and start out a fresh, light green before deepening in colour as they grow.
