Native to South Africa, Euphorbia Platyclada or "dead plant" grows in arid landscapes, using its shrivelled appearance to hide from hungry herbivores! This plant favours dryer conditions, so treat it similar to a cactus. This is a slightly different species, which grows more vertically compared to the 'normal' form and has a much darker green appearance. 

How to care for your Euphorbia - 

Water:  Water the plant when the top one inch of soil is dry. During autumn and winter, water lightly only every 3 to 4 weeks.

Light: They need bright direct/indirect sun.

Humidity: Dry conditions would be sufficient.

Temperature: They need warm temperatures about 20 degrees C.
