Hoya clemensiorum aff. 'Dark Red'
Meet Hoya clemensiorum (or something very close to it!)—a striking climbing plant with long, lance-shaped leaves and deep, dramatic veins. These beauties came from a Dutch grower, and while we haven't seen them flower yet, we're pretty sure they belong close to H. clemensiorum (or a very close relative!).
Where’s it from?
Native to the tropical forests of Sabah, Malaysia, this Hoya is used to warm, humid conditions and loves a good climb.
Watering
Let the soil dry out between waterings to keep those roots happy! During the growing season, water thoroughly once the top layer of soil feels dry. In winter, scale back on watering—this plant slows down when it’s colder, so it won’t need as much.
Light
Loves bright, indirect light. Too much direct sun? Leaves can scorch. Too little? It might struggle to grow and flower. Find a happy medium for best results!
Humidity
Moderate to high humidity (60–70%) keeps this Hoya at its best. If your home is on the dry side, consider misting it or running a humidifier to give it a boost.
Temperature
Prefers warm indoor temps—think 23–24°C. Keep it away from cold drafts or sudden chills to avoid stress.
