Pilea microphylla is a small, spreading plant from the nettle family (without the sting!). It has soft, light green stems and tiny, unevenly shaped leaves that grow in pairs. The leaves are spoon-shaped, tapering to a point, and only about 9mm long. Its tiny green flowers are known for shooting out pollen, hence the name “artillery” plant.
How to care for your Pilea -
Water: If possible water from the bottom, using a saucer, once a week, and mist over the leaves every few days.
Light: They enjoy bright but indirect sunlight.
Humidity: Regular humidity levels are sufficient.
Temperature: They enjoy warmth, about 20 degrees C.
